The Imperial Army

Position status

Imperial Captain - Vacant

Knight Captain (War Council) - Vacant

Knight captain (Quartermaster) - Vacant

Background

The army is commanded by the Imperial Captain and reports to the Imperial Judicator.  The Imperial Captain, in conjunction with the Knight Captain of the War Council, has complete control over the operation of the army in times of peace.  In times of war or at the command of the Imperial Judicator the War Council assumes command of the army.  The War council is comprised of all Officers who hold the rank of Knight Captain and above, the Imperial Judicator and Lord Rahkzan if he so wishes.  As a concession to the clans the Lord of the Province in which Imperial troops are located may also join the War council as an honorary member for the duration of the conflict.

The army may only cross provincial boundaries on the command of the Imperial Captain and may only cross national boundaries on the command of the Imperial Judicator.  This is to ensure that the army is only mobilized on the advice of the Imperial government and not by local commanders.

The Quartermaster controls the supply of all Imperial troops.  He ensures the payment of all troops and officers, distribution of military equipment, supply of all building equipment and the operation of all army run stores and businesses.  The Quartermaster also organizes military parades in the Capital on specified days.

When the Imperial army is in combat any lands captured by the army is to be given to the civilian government.  No officer is to keep lands captured for personal gains.  However the capture of important cities and persons will result in an immediate gratuity depending upon the said location or person.  At the end of the war officers will be given bonuses and medals depending upon their performance.  This may include land, money or titles depending upon the will of Lord Rahkzan.
